Honestly?
Today I am tired. We flew into WA yesterday to be with the Earls for a little reunion this week. I am in a room with the two girls, it has a crib and queen bed. So, Marlee and I are sharing a bed. Anyway....the day started at 4:45 a.m. when I had to get up to get us ready to go to the airport. I got the girls in bed by about 9:00 p.m. Well, I got to bed about 10:30 and Kenna woke up for the first feeding at 11:30. Then again at 2:00 and then Marlee woke up at 3:00 a.m. and started crying and telling me her ear hurt. I got her some meds and hot cocoa and she finally went back down about 3:45. Then Kenna woke up again at 5:30 to eat and then up for good at 7:00 a.m. Wow, definitely not enough sleep. Kenna has been waking up every hour and a half in the night. I don't know what her deal is, but it is KILLIN' me! I don't know if she is at the age where I should let her "cry it out" or not....Anyway, if anyone else has experienced this and has any good advise, let me know!

Yuck, that sounds like a NIGHTMARE! I let my girls cry it out once they were about 3 months old. Right or wrong, I don't know. . . I just needed some SLEEP and it worked! After about 2 nights, they were both sleeping the majority of the night without having to cry for Mommy. They just needed to learn how to soothe themselves to sleep. Good luck!!!
I'm such a softie... I offer no advice, only hope. I'm sure she will be sleeping through the night LONG before she leaves for college! :)
I was a softie mom..Megan didn't cry it out until she was way older...but she was a hungry baby. How old is Kenna now? When Megan was about four months old she started waking up starving about every hour/every hour and a half and so I talked to my doctor about it and she said that she was old enough and big enough to start her on rice cereal and some solid foods and so I did and then blissfully she started sleeping for longer periods at night again. And then a month or so later she would start waking up often again and a I would add a second meal, and she would sleep more again, etc. It was really nice. :) And then not until after she was eating three meals a day (and nursing after each one, and in the morning and at night) did I finally let her cry it out...b/c she had definitely had enough to eat. but...she was like 8ish months by then. So...that's the only experience I've had. I've heard that others have had great success with letting them cry it out though..so, I say do what feels best. :) But...sorry about the sleepless nights. They're the worst!
let her cry it out...it will honestly only take 1 week. It works it really does...I have 2 boys that never ever were up in the night.
oh man, thats tough, I am also a softy. Our girls sleep better when they are in our bed, we dont, but at least they are in better moods the next day. Hallie was a HORRIBLE SLEEPER (in fact at 2 1/2 she still isnt sleeping through the night!) and I just made her stay up more during the day, take shorter or less naps and I made sure to feed her rice cereal before bed so she had a full belly. She isn't teething or anything yet right? Hope things get better for you!
Oh man. She and Abigail are in the same boat! Ever since we got back from Moses Lake Abby won't sleep. I am so sorry for you. Sleep deprivation totally bites. I let my other 3 scream it out and I am so thankful I did. Now I have 3 little ones that sleep great. It is time for Abby to learn and I am dreading it, but it's totally worth it. Chin up and hang int here!
Ok, vacations must just totally screw up kids, because Brooklyn hasn't wanted to sleep either since we got back from Hawaii. She's been sleep-trained since about 6 months, but we're having to go through it all over again it seems. Good luck! I feel your pain! : )
I'm a big believer in letting them cry it out! It is absolutely necessary. She'll be fine. :)
