The Grass is Always Greener

Why is it that almost everyone I know that has straight hair wishes it was curly, and almost everyone I know that has curly hair wants it straight. Well, I found out this week the Marlee is no exception. I have only straightened her hair once before and It was before Makenna was born! We decided to try it again this week. The problem... now she doesn't want it to be curly any more. She realized that she is the only one at preschool with curly hair, and she has decided she wants to be like the other girls. Blah. I think she looks adorable with it straight, but I also really love her curls. Plus, there is no way you're gonna find be blow drying and flat ironing my 4 year olds hair every day...It may be a fight, but I'm sure we can come to some agreement...

It makes her look so old!!!

"Auntie Tiff" and "Baby Paige"

For several weeks, our little family impatiently awaited the arrival of "Auntie Tiff" and "Baby Paige". She had sweet baby Paige 4 months ago. We were supposed to drive out to Utah for the blessing, unfortunately, that week my girls got H1N1. Needless to say, we had to cancel our trip. Southwest was running a great sale, so we got her a ticket to bring Paige to us! They got in on Friday morning and left on Monday afternoon. We had SO much fun with them, and it was so good to finally meet me newest pseudo-niece. I love Tiff like a sister, and I love Paige like a niece. Tiff is one of the most amazing, loyal, considerate people I have ever met. I am lucky to call her one of my best friends. I love how she loves my girls, and now I can love hers just as much. She is that friend, that no matter how much time passes between visits, or phone calls we remain the same. It doesn't matter what we do, we have fun doing it. Marlee cried all the way home from the airport. It was really sad. I am so glad they got to come, and even more glad the Paige survived my daughters and nieces! Miss them already!
An added bonus of when we see each other, is that we both get to have our hair done! There are few people (besides myself) that I trust with this mop. It was nice to have my hair done "for real". This isn't the best shot, but I knew Dad (Earl) would want to see what we did. The colors are a little off in the picture, I think due to the angle and flash. We made it really dark, did some red highlights throughout the middle section, and left my random blonde throughout the bottom. We also cut off 3 inches. Love it. Thanks Tiff.

Thanksgiving

I have been such a blog slacker lately. Between visitors for Thanksgiving, visitors after thanksgiving and Collin working 7 days a week til all hours of the night, I have been a little busy! Thanksgiving this year was good, quiet, but good. My mom and dad (in-law) came to visit us. It was so fun to have them, but the weekend went by WAY too fast! They got in Wednesday night and we just hung out. Thursday was Thanksgiving lunch and we went to see New Moon (yes, again). Black Friday, I got up with my mom and sisters and we went to brave the crazies at 3:30 am. Good news is, I got completely done Christmas shopping for my girls by 11:00 am! When I got home, we put Makenna for a nap and Tom, Gail, Marlee and myself hopped on the light rail to go downtown and see Collin's office. It is really nice. That night we went to the Melting Pot for dinner. It was Collin and I, my mom and dad, Tom and Gail. It was SO fun. They had to leave on Saturday, but I am glad we got them for a few days! I stink, and only managed to get one picture with them, it was at the Melting Pot, oh well. The others are of the activity I did with my girls and my nieces to keep them occupied while the Thanksgiving cooking was going on. We made an appetizer turkey. Her name was Ariel.
Makenna and Sophie pretty much just ate all the food while we put Ariel together, but it was still really fun!
