Swine Flu

Well, it's official Marlee has the swine flu. She seemed to be doing a little better after she woke up this morning, but then after quiet time she was begging me for "medi's" and telling me she couldn't walk. She was very warm, so I took her to the walk in clinic. Her fever was 105.1 when we got there. I don't think I have EVER run a fever that high! She was falling asleep all over the place, in my lap, on the doctors table. Poor thing. We got home and gave her some drugs, and after about 30 minutes she came down and said she was "feelin' better!". Just in time for me to give her a hug and have her throw up all over me. Yum. She just threw up again, and now I am afraid with SUCH a high fever and her throwing up, she is going to get dehydrated. I have a feeling it is only a matter of time before Kenna and I are in the same position. I hope I am wrong. Wish me luck with tonight...and don't be expecting us in Utah this weekend...

FOUR!

Yesterday Marlee turned four! I can't believe she is so big already. The time with her has gone SO fast, and I have loved almost every minute of it.
We went out for a special mommy-Marlee surprise. I took her to the Movie Tavern (which is like a movie theatre, with tables and waiters and stuff). We saw Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs in 3D. She thought it was hilarious. We ate candy, and got fries and a strawberry milkshake. She is so much fun to be with. Especially one on one. The things she says crack me up. It was a fun date!

Unfortunately, after Marlee's party on Friday my niece Lily started feeling sick. Turns out she has H1N1. Then, yesterday morning we found out that my nephew Jake also has it. Last night I started getting a really sore throat and a cough, same with Kenna. I don't know if we have it or not, but whatever it is, it is not fun. We were supposed to go to Utah this weekend and see one of my VERY best friends baby....but I don't know if that will happen now. I am super bummed. I guess we'll see...

A Very Pinkalicious Party

Marlee's 4th birthday party was last night. Her birthday is actually on Monday, but we decided to do her party this weekend since we will be in Utah next weekend. Originally Marlee wanted another Disney Princess party, but with a little persuading she thought a Pinkalicious party would be fun. It is her favorite book and we have even gone to see the musical. It was about as pink as a party could be. We had our guests wear pink, along with the birthday girl. I made my girls Pinkalicious shirts. We made cupcakes like in the story. Pink punch, pink dipped pretzels, pink balloons, you name it. I even made all the girls that came cute little pink flower bows. I thought it turned out nice. We read the story, opened presents and ate a lot of junk food. Thanks Nicole for helping out, and everyone for coming and making it so fun! We miss all of our Earl family and SD friends that couldn't be here!!

Anticipation

I admit it. I like Twilight. I also admit, I am really looking forward to New Moon coming out and going to the midnight showing with my mom, sisters, and girlfriends. I thought I would put this NEW trailer up for those who haven't seen it. I know my sisters haven't. (Oh, and all you closet lovers can watch without anyone knowing)...enjoy.

Curly Sue

So as everyone knows, Marlee's hair is usually up in ponies of some sort. I always feel like I have to pull at least the front back because she has such a fro. What can I say? I am not used to curly hair. Anyway, I decided the other day before she left for preschool to try to blow dry it and try to leave most of it down. I didn't have a small diffuser, so I just used some product and my hand. Man.... she is curly! I always try to imagine her when she is older and wonder if she will still have these curls... I hope so...I love my little Curly Sue.

Smarty Pants

Yesterday was Marlee's first day of preschool at Smarty Pants Preschool. She LOVED IT! And I may be just a little bit biased, but I thought she looked so grown up and so pretty! She is such a social butterfly, it is really good for her to be back in school! I was a little worried about "Ms.Jenn" being her auntie and all, but she did great! I was proud of them both. Jenn has put a lot of work into the preschool and it looks AWESOME and she is so good at it. We're looking forward to a great year!
Her "fancy first day hair"

Today is my 27th birthday. 09-09-09. NO big plans, but we are going to Outback tonight! Collin just got done with an interview for an internship at a big firm downtown and he got it! Yay! Fingers crossed this turns into a job afterwards!

Labor Day

A Whitmill family tradition is to go to the Taste of Colorado every Labor Day. It was really fun, although as the years go on and our family grows it gets more and more chaotic! It was still really fun, as usual, and my favorite thing is still the roasted sweet corn! I had two this year...delicious!All 11 Whitmill grandkids
Marlee turned to me as we walked away after this picture and said "Hey mom, that was one BIG LADY!" They thought she was pretty cool. The kids all wanted to get their faces painted at the Taste, but it was $7 per kid, so we decided to do our own face paint at the BBQ that night. Of course, after I made Marlee a butterfly, ALL the girls wanted to be butterflies, so I used what we had and did what I could! They thought it was cool. We made Hunter a pirate, but I must not have snapped a picture.

Other than having my husband gone, it was a really fun weekend!

Dreams

I just wanted to take a minute and say how proud I am of my husband. He is an ambitious guy, and he follows his dreams. In the last three years, he has not only graduated from Law School, but also written a novel. Most of you already know this. What most of you don't know is that The House Of Grey is almost finished, has hit over 135,000 downloads online and that Collin and Chris were nominated for a Parsec award. In Collins words they are the Grammys of podcasting. The boys left for Atlanta yesterday to go to the convention.
A lot of times this book is a pain in my butt. It takes time and energy from Collin, and a great deal of patience from myself and my girls. Still, no matter how jealous I get of the time or how sick I am of hearing about it at times, I am SO PROUD! Proud that Collin is who he is, and is ok if other people don't like that. Proud that he can follow his dreams and not be afraid of the "haters". Proud that he is mine (sorry ladies).
So, Collin and Chris good luck, and no matter what happens, you will come home winners in my eyes!
