The "Incident"

On Tuesday last week I went to Target with my sister Jenn and her kids after preschool. Marlee was at a play date so I just had Kenna with me to kill some time. We shopped around, picked up the new Barbie movie and decided to head out. Since I wasn't going straight home, I decided to run to the bathroom real quick and asked Jenn to keep an eye on Kenna while I was gone.

When I came out from the bathroom I heard screaming, and as I got closer I saw Jenn with Kenna and a couple Target employees hovering around with their walkie-talkies. I then realized, it was Kenna screaming. She had jumped out of the cart and gone around the back side of the automatic doors, when they opened for someone, her hand got smashed. It looked really bad when I first saw it. They wanted to call an ambulance, but I thought she would be ok for me to drive her in. They had us fill out some paperwork and they took pictures of her hand, oh, and they gave her a free Icee, which helped calm her down! Then, I took her to the Urgent Care clinic. Luckily nothing was broken. We gave her some drugs and brought her home. She had what almost looked like a blood blister (but wasn't) on her palm and some deep indentations from where she was stuck. It is still marked up and a little bruised, but looks WAY better. I am just glad it wasn't anything more serious.

I may, or may not have mentioned that my husband was at work...at his LAW FIRM when this happened. It is kind of a nice card to pull when necessary, ha ha. Really though, I reassured them that I wasn't going to try and sue anyone. Although, the next day, I had 4 or 5 phone calls from their corporate office checking on Makenna and the "incident" at Target. It was really no ones fault, I am just glad to be done with it!

(I know this picture is terrible, but it was with my phone and it's the only one I have)

Poor baby:( I hope she's feeling better. That's one of those situations where you feel really sad and scared...then later, mad for the kid not staying where they are supposed to. Isn't being a mom great.

Oh, poor sweetie. That must've really hurt her. And scared her. Glad she'll be fine and that nothing is broken. Is that huge not-blood-blister thing a giant bruise?! It looks horrible.
